Coloring and shading is very tricky, but it's really fun once you get the hang of it.
Just remember that shadows should not be placed where you think they look nice - shadows and hilights should be placed on the objects in your picture based on where the light source is, where the object is, the shape of the object, and the texture of the object.

Basically, you should be able to tell what everything in your picture is by the shading alone when you erase all your lineart.

I did a quick edit on her head / upper chest to give you an idea and to keep myself away from bed longer. :]

Not in Japantown specifically, but it was in South San Francisco. A place called Ebisu. Good food!
